OASIS-C: Navigating Your Way to Success
OASIS-C: Navigating Your Way to Success Attend this program to learn the essentials of OASIS-C that you NEED to know - including how to assess the patient the correct way for the most accurate OASIS. This workshop explains what you need to know, what you need to do and how to do it. The most accurate OASIS means the right POC, the right outcomes and the right payment. There will be plenty of scenarios and documentation examples to set things straight. The program will provide in-depth coverage of OASIS time points and OASIS-C best practices. OASIS education is essential and with changing interpretations and additional clarifications, it has become compulsory. Ensure that you are up-to-date on all the OASIS intricacies, including pressure ulcers, surgical wounds and other wounds. Are you working hard on your outcomes, but not making headway? Perhaps the “other” OASIS data items are hindering your progress. You probably had OASIS training before, perhaps on the correct answering of the payment data items and some education on outcomes. OASIS C is not just training on the payment questions, but an in-depth analysis of the OASIS data items in regards to payment and outcomes. The key to accurate payment and to accurate outcomes and risk adjustment depends on answering the OASIS data items accurately and according to CMS instructions. This 1.5 day workshop is intended to support the home health clinician's understanding and accuracy in OASIS data collection. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to: 1. Discuss the importance of meeting OASIS time frame requirements. 2. Explain OASIS C conventions. 3. Discuss OASIS C items important to process measurement. 4. Explain risk adjustment and how OASIS data items impact your hospitalization and other improvement outcomes. 5. Discuss correct assessment strategies for answering Clinical data items. 6. Discuss correct assessment strategies for answering Functional Data items. 7. Discuss correct assessment strategies for answering Service Utilization data items. 8. Explain the wound assessment guidelines to accurately assess the OASIS C data items. 9. Discuss the impact of answering the data items regarding discharge, transfer and emergent care. 10. Use an OASIS assessment to identify correct answers to data items. This training is appropriate for participants at all levels and all disciplines!!! Registration Deadline is March 22, 2012!
